I am Ander Iza, specialist in endurance sports and running & trail running coach

I have been trained for several years in Sports Sciences field and my enthusiasm encourages me to be permanently learning. My coaching method offers everything you need to improve your performance: customized and structured training plan, running-specific strength exercises, nutritional advise, racing strategies, etc...
All based in Sports Performance related scientific principles and my personal experience.

In addition, I am a trail & road runner and I have run in every distance from 5K to Ultratrails. I have personally tested all the training methods before I use them with my athletes. I know exactly what you feel during your trainings and races, which makes it easier to help and coach you more efficiently and with more empathy,

A bit more about me:

Born and grown-up in the green Basque Country (north of Spain), a paradise for trail runners and runners, I have always been passionate about sports and outdoors. I started playing football when I was only 7 years old, and even though I was not serious about running yet, I participated with success in a few fun races in my region at a very young age. My first run was back in 1999, when for the surprise of the local running teams, I ranked 4th position in a 3-mile race in my hometown.

I practiced fun running and football until I started university, where I continued linked to sports as I studied a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Physical Activity Sciences and a Physical Education Teaching Diploma. During my university years, I kept taking part in some running races, where I would take the chance to put into practice all the learnings and improve my PBs (Personal Bests).

In 2016, after having worked as a Personal Trainer, Sports Coordinator, and Physical Education Teacher, I decided to leave Spain to learn more about the world and seek different life experiences. Since then, I have run and raced all around the world, I have got my Running Coach Certification and lived in New Zealand, Canada, and the Philippines, where running became my lifestyle.
